First Sign of Young
I’ve been watching a pair of red-headed woodpeckers at CBEC all summer. They spent a lot of time around this one tree cavity. At times I thought they were nesting, but then their behavior was not consistent with having young. We suspected something may have happened to their first clutch. Then I noticed signs of having young - they were making frequent visits to the cavity with food. These pictures were taken 5 Aug.
