Hatchlings

Did you know?

  • The hatching process is called “pipping”; the chick begins breaking a hole in the egg with its beak. It may take a day for the eaglet to fully hatch from the egg.

  • The hatching of the sibling will happen 1-4 days later.

Adult Pair Feeding Hatchlings. Mission notes:  When I arrived I noticed adult standing on the nest with head down, doing something - adjusting eggs, eating, feeding - not sure. The second adult arrived, did not notice if it had brought food. The first adult left and the second adult had head down, doing something. The second adult then left the nest and perched on nearby branch. It was later joined by the second adult at the branch.

I estimate on or about 1 March 2 eggs hatched, 3 days apart
