This species is normally seen in western and central US and Canada. 

This particular bird, a juvenile, appears to have a deformity of the beak.

This is a good example of how a bird can sometimes adapt to a deformity or injury. At this particular park many visitors bring in bird seed and place it on the posts of the fencing. The following pictures show how he scooped up the millet to eat.
