A birding hazard we face is the risk of getting bitten by ticks and there is also the irritation of other bugs, such as mosquitoes, chiggers and flies. I am sometimes asked what I do to fight this battle. Thought I’d share it here -

I have bought pre-treated clothing and I also spray my boots and cap with a Permethrin spray. I have found a place you can get pre-treated clothing - Insect Shield. At Insect Shield you can also send them clothing to have treated.
