Day Five & Trip Summary
The last day, another beautiful day. It’s always hard to leave Cape May during fall migration. We start the day with a walk at South Cape May Meadows.

Next we went back over to the Cape May Bird Observatory to bird the neighborhood, but the birding was not as active as the previous evening. We then went to the hawk watch one more time before leaving. I had the pleasure of seeing Pete Dunne at the Hawk Watch again this year. Always a treat to be at the lookout when he is there. He is very generous with his extensive knowledge. He calls out the raptors as they are barely within sight and shares tips on how to identify them as they fly overhead.
An osprey hunts the pond at the Hawk Watch.
Well the time has come to leave Cape May and catch the ferry. The birding continues on the ferry ride.
Summary
Total species count for me was 121, with one life bird (Connecticut Warbler).
