23 April - (approx. 33 days old) - I have been checking on the owlet every few days. Each time mom has not been on the nest but perched nearby. Most of the time he/she is tucked down into the tire. He/she doesn’t seem as active as nests with a sibling to bother.

29 April - (approx. 39 days old) - During today’s visit mom was perched in the same spot and as before the owlet did not move around much. I observed for about 2 hours and never witnessed a wing stretch. He did look around a bit.

03 May - (approx. 43 days old) - I stopped by today but did not stay very long. As before mom was perched above in the nest tree. The owlet stayed tucked in during the whole time I was there.
