Day Two
Day two started at 7:00am at the Higbee Beach morning count.
We had Carolina Wrens calling around the platform, we had various birds flying over - Northern Flickers, Blue Jays, Yellow-rumped Warblers….it wasn’t particularly active so we decided to go over to the field platform before the morning got away from us.
Clear, 57F WNW winds 7mph

This includes the species seen at the field platform and walk.
After a quick stop at the Hawk Watch we went to Cape May Bird Observatory, Northwood Center - unlike yesterday, today it was very quiet. We did see some additional species though - Black Vultures, Mourning Doves and a Red-shouldered Hawk.
We decided to drive north to The Wetlands Institute at Stone Harbor. It was a beautiful spot.
Species List for The Wetlands Institute.
On our way back to Cape May we stopped along side of the road at Nummy’s Island, where we saw additional shorebirds.
